As they share the same excellent 16MB Samsung cache chip, the X25-M and X25-E have very comparable burst speed. However, Burst speed is almost always cache rather than drive dependant, as evidenced here by the cheap 250GB Seagate drive's high speed thanks a dedicated cache - something that the cheaper SSDs lack.


Again, average read for the X25-E is very comparable to the X25-M, as both share the same Intel developed disk controller chip, delivering blisteringly fast read speeds over the full drive capacity.


And again, response time is predictably fast, especially in comparison to mechanical drives. Like the X25-M, the X25-E delivers response times of just 0.1ms.
